New season has hit the runway - from the extravagant to the practical and everything in between, see what’s caught our eye from Spring 2022's biggest trends.
OVERSIZED The pendulum has swung back from micro to maxi - larger-than-life totes and giant shoppers made a case for always keeping the essentials and then some on you (we’re going into summer prepared). Our new tip: half-fold your tote and wear it as a clutch a la Isabel Marant and Etro.
PLATFORMS Things are on the up and up - shoe wise, that is. Next season’s offering is about elevating your look (literally) without forgoing the practicality only a flat can provide: enter, the platform. The quirkier, the better.
BUCKET BAGS A structured, tactical bucket bag is always welcome on a summer runway - practical but anything-but-basic is the brief. This season’s were an array of themes - vanity-style at Louis Vuitton, seventies whipstitching at Chloé to a straw bag at Patou Jane Birkin would feel at home in.
SEVENTIES From the Studio 54 references at Fendi to Anthony Vacarello’s Paloma Picasso-inspired Saint Laurent collection, fashion’s golden era of disco is back. Follow Saint Laurent’s lead and tuck your envelope clutch into your trouser waist to go hands-free on the dancefloor.
SPACE-AGE EYEWEAR From the micro and Matrix-esque to Prada’s borderline goggle offerings, eyewear was ready for takeoff. Reboot it for daytime in structured and architectural frames with a coloured lens.
